Hey everyone,
Since I have a deep appreciation for tea and enjoy drinking it often, I wish to own a beautifully crafted teapot that reflects the artistry and cultural heritage associated with traditional tea ceremonies.
The moment I saw this teapot from Tibet, I knew I wanted to recreate it.
Ceremonial Teapots in the old days of Tibet were much more than simple vessels for holding teas or water, They were much more:- used for religious ceremonies(ofc), social customs, artistic expression, and also the display of wealth.
The Teapot is made from metals such as brass, copper, or silver. Some are a combination of these metals.
At the top of the lid is a lotus finial and at the lid’s base is a band bearing the eight auspicious symbols.
At the neck is another larger band probably bearing representations of offerings.
The handle is in the form of a dragon and the spout represents a makara’s head.
Makara is a legendary sea creature.
On both sides of the teapot are silver representations of Garuda (although the face appears to be human).
